#488377 / 488152 / 9790522 are the GM part numbers in order of succession, doesn't mean that part number is actually cast on the housing. #482138 seems to have been a common casting number for the body at the time, but formed different combinations of assembled pieces.

My old 71 Trans Am was built the second week of February 1971 (02B) and the original water pump casting number was 482138, with a date code of A081 (January 8, 1971).
