That’s interesting. They even did a real weight and balance check. I’m sure they spent some time in a wind tunnel as well.
I doubt we’ll ever see one in operation. A 20% savings in fuel is enough incentive to try.

My finely tuned intuitive engineering sense says .... that's going to work. It looks right, and all good planes look right. 20% fuel savings would be a HUGE thing for the industry and the world. For some reason it looks safer than conventional designs too, can't put my finger on why.

I’d hate to be close to the wing tip during turbulence. Have you seen them bounce during a flight? Get out the barf bags.

Wonder how it behaves in 20 mph crosswind evals at takeoff and landing?

Was it ever on the cover of Popular Mechanics? That's the kiss of death. Whatever they said we'd be doing in 20 years never happened.

Where is the fuel stored?

Not seeing flying on a wishbone. A shallow delta planform would be stronger and more space efficient. This one is more windows than any other strength.

Thumbs down

Best left as a remote control model !

Aerodynamics on that beast would be a handful.

If one engine fails.. will it fly like a boomerang?

Boomerang flat spin at high altitude, how far will it go with no engines at all?

I believe the specs said "Glide ratio of a small safe or large piano." Or was that one of the planes I flew? JK ... lol
