Not much noticeable difference between 3.50s and 3.23s. If you're trying to make a noticeable change go from 3.55 to 3.08. I understand trying to keep the 10 bolt for an original Judge but hard to justify $3k on a peg leg 10 bolt for most of us.

Cool to see siblings trusted with cars like that, and then ship them off to college with it.
My daughter drove my GTO to school this past spring a couple of times before she graduated high school. I figured the worst that could happen is it gets hit in the parking lot but statistically it just wasn't something I worried about. This poor car is just worn out. Once the axle is done then the trans will get a rebuild, exhaust will go on and I may pull the engine to replace freeze plugs. I want to drive it.

I like it!! E bodies are popular but I've always been a fan of the larger B body stuff. If I found the right one, I'd have one in the garage.
The Bee I see at college is all correctly restored, down to the tires. Very nice paint, chrome, trim etc... Not unusual to see classics around here, we daily drive ours, AZ is full of them and we have the weather to enjoy year round, but to see one in a college parking lot all year isn't quite that common. Especially an out of state car that he most likely drove over here from New Mexico to stay for the college season.

Plenty of BOP gear sets on eBay 3.08, 3.23, 3.36, 3.55, 3.73, 3.90, 4.11. Take your pick.

I drove a high mileage '69 GTO from Miami to Pennsylvaia with automatic and 3.55s. It got 15-16 mpg cruising around 70-75. it was a standard engine car, very stock.
I didn't feel like I was overreving the engine and it cruised along effortlessly. Very enjoyable. A custom balance job on the engine will enhance smoothness.

I wouldn't say 3500rpms on the highway is necessarily uncomfortable. Its easy for me to compare because 3rd gear in my 200R4 transmission is somewhat close to the TH400 3rd gear. Its easy to drop down to 3rd gear and compare to driving in 4th with the 200R4. Once I drove my 69 GTO on the highway at 75mph at 2100rpms, I could never go back to highway driving at the higher rpms.

Unfortunately I never saw 15-16mpg. Mine was getting 11-13 mpg with the TH400 until I went to the 4sp 200R. Fuel economy easily rose to 19-20mpg. Rather surprising how efficient the Qjet can be at lower rpms.
