Very Nice '64 GTO
I stumbled across this very nice '64 GTO with a lot of originality. No asking price posted and I have not contacted them.
Thought I'd post it here for everyone's enjoyment. https://www.duncanimports.com/used/P...963e4f7972.htm |

Mine link pops up a little dialog box that says "Private Collection - not for sale".
Pontiac Michigan built car. Power steering/manual brakes evidently drives the stainless trim on the pedals. Those Stewart Warner green line gauges mounted under the dash are the same ones that are in my car. K

You have good taste. I have the SW green line gauges under the dash too and a matching tach on the steering column in my car (factory tach doesn't work). |

Thank you;

Years ago - I looked at a Cameo Ivory 64 GTO that had a set of the SW Green Lines in it. The car included paperwork from the dealership for the installation of the SW gauges at the time of delivery (the car had been ordered without a radio too - the dealer had installed an aftermarket radio AM/FM if I recall correctly). As a result of this experience, when I see the Green LInes and the really plain SW gauges in a car - I often wonder if they have been there since essentially new.

That really is a neat car but I do wish more people would detail the rear panels with the correct shade of red.

SW has reintroduced the style - so they are readily available new. Vintage versions come-up often in online auctions.

60s vintage SW Green Line set.
Quote:
The SW gauges in the above 64 are a little different than yours and mine. I think they are a newer version. Our oil pressure gauge tops out at 80 lbs. The 64 is 100 lbs. Also, the water temp gauge is a little different. It starts at 100 and tops at 250. My SW gauge set is dated from the mid 60s. Chris.

It could be that they are electric vs manual. The 2 have different faces / ranges. I just put a new set of electric in mine. I was having a hard time finding vintage ones.... all of the NOS ones i could find were almost double a set of new, and usually were missing the sender or other issues.

I removed the set of SW green line gauges that were in my '65 when I bought it in 1982. They are mechanical. Still have them, but the temp gauge is non op. I simply hooked up the rally cluster gauges and now the dash looks cleaner. My bet is that they are almost as old as the car.
