closest ive seen is the Barry Lutz chevelle dash that glasstek makes. I was going to make one out of the cheap plastic pad cover and some 1/4" tubing as a frame and kind've fill in the blanks on my racecar

That’s a nice idea... How are these repro covers holding up? Are they sturdy enough? One might half fill the backside with urethane foam or something ..?

Thanks for the tip guys... Really appreciate it! Although we were almost set on having the old one in it for the looks.....

I used a Ames performance plastic dash cover on my 69 GTO 10yrs ago. Still holding up great!

I didn’t put it over the factory dash I just used the dash cover and some aluminum angle to attach it. I believe it was lighter than a fiberglass dash.
