Thought I would ring in on this discussion and let you know I had the same problem. Bought a new headlight switch from Inline Tube that listed that it was compatible with a 1966 Catalina. Realized after awhile (hadn’t driven at night for a while) that I had no dash lights, taillights, or license plate lamp. After messing around with wiring and grounds for a week, I put the old (still functional) switch back in for testing and all of the sudden everything worked. I was also having an issue with the breaker in the newer switch heating up when (stock) headlight high beams were on causing the lights to blink after a few minutes. All issues were resolved with the new switch, although i’m still planning on getting the harness rebuilt due to corrosion I’ve been finding everywhere. I noticed after the fact what was mentioned in this thread; the contact straps appear to be different in the newer switch versus the older switch even though the spades are the same.

Correct, switches look identical, except for the strap connecting the pins. Were you able to get a refund from Inline? I was able to have OPGI refund my switch

I have not pursued a refund since I just discovered the issue last night. I’ve had the switch installed for more than a month and am wondering if they’ll give me my money back. I would even settle for store credit. I’ll follow up with them.

Hopefully they will, as they sold you a part that can't possibly work for your particular car. I did mention exactly this to OPGI when I returned the switch, and they honored the request
