I've got a 69 that WAS a 4 spd, but now has an auto in it. It still has the pedals in it and I have a 4 spd Muncie for it but that's all. I've never had, or worked on, a 4 spd A body. What else is needed for the install? I don't have a flywheel, bellhousing, z bar or shifter and that's the extent of my knowledge on what's needed for it. Thanks,

Doug

Appropriate console, maybe a reverse lock-out rod (linkage), main shift linkages, clutch disc, pressure plate, trowout bearing, clutck fork, fork pivot ball, Z bar pivot stud, Z bar bracket, Z bar to pedal linkage, Z bar to fork linkage, return spring, & appropriate pilot bearing/bushing if it's different.
I think that maight be all or damn-near all of it?

Um,
$$$$$$
That will help!
Shifter =275.00
Linkage and parts Good guess is around 200 bucks!
Bellhousing is 75.00 up
Flywheel is 100.00 up
Possible driveshaft and Yoke?

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

Um, a presentable console for a 4-speed runs over 250.00 these days!

I got a bellhousing for $30. Does it look like the correct style? The part number is 9785581.

Bellhousing & inspection cover are about the most affordable pieces in this swap. The "581" bellhousing is the correct one for your swap. Ck 'em real close for cracks...

'68-69 LeMans-GTO bucket seat shifter is basically the same. '68 will have provision for the back-up light switch. '69 back-up light switch is on the column (& column B/U switch is different than A/T) so '69 shifter will not have the tang for the switch. '69+ stock linkage will utilize the stick backdrive linkage...

There are a bunch up there, but a couple looked similar to the one I bought. Look at the attached ones and see if you know what they're supposed to fit. Part number 1249599, and one that was marked as off of a 396 Chevy cast iron number 3733378 (3793378 maybe) date code J186 or J188. Thanks,

Doug
