Default My Step-Daughter’s ‘68

We began the restoration on my step-daughter’s ‘68. She has owned it since 1984, when she was a sophomore in high school. We used it in her wedding in 1995. Since then , it’s been parked since then. Now, we’re finally stripping it for restoration. Last week, we removed the engine, front fenders & bumper, rear bumper, interior, and exhaust system. I’m going to start a thread on the restoration in this forum. It’s going to the shop mid- February.

[QUOTE=ScumOne;6157866]

White w/ red painted top and interior. That's a pretty unusual combo.
Cool.

Between being a RAIV car and a bench seat it’s probably closing in on one of one but that kilo speedo cinches the deal!

Hmmmm. M40 + bench seat = column shift.
Wouldn't have been my choice.

Default 1968 Firebird Convertible

Barn find, one owner car, 42,000 original miles. Good friend of mine bought it from the original owner who received it as a high school graduation gift. He never re-titled it and decided he had too many projects and sold it to me (my first car was a ‘69 hardtop). This one sat for 31 years in a family barn, but is in amazingly good shape with original paint and top. Spent some bucks getting it road worthy but still have very little in It compared to what I believe it to be worth as an original example. The wife and I will enjoy driving this one here in the Shenandoah Valley

Is that really original paint and top? Unbelievable for a 50+ year old car. Looks great!

Default 68 Convertible

Yes, original paint and top. There is a bit of surface rust, particularly on the trunk, but overall it looks very good, thanks!

Did you add the 7" wide wheels or was that already done?

Car is really nice looking w the ralleys, but
I have a 69 convertible and I have the stock wheel and hub caps on it. Swapped from polished torque thrust IIs. People absolutely love the hubcaps really surprised me . What surprised me even more is I actually like the look of hubcaps now too.
It’s so rare to see one w them these days.

Very cool car being all original paint and top. Great find.
