Default slight rehash on F41, 1970 specifically, but more years.

There has been discussions on here about 1970 options.
F41 has come up on a build sheet recently and made me question what I believed to be true. Some background.
F41 is a CHEVY RPO code and for F cars started in 1967. Chevy put F41 in some special 6 cylinder camaros with 14 inch tires.
Moving up to 1970... Having seen a few 15 inch tire Formulas
I had assumed that these cars came with F41 as standard if you got the 15 inch tires ( the Trans Am suspension) , I noticed this build sheet with F41 and 14 inch tires ( California build)
Moving to 72 I see build sheets with F41 AND Y99.
I guess I need to figure if F41 was spring rate, and Y99 the anti sway bar? I haven't seen these costed out separately on a window sticker.
I owned a y99 1971 Formula 350.. 14 inch tires. 4 speed.
Has anyone seen these two supposed separate options billed out separately??
I have probably over thought this. When I was at the Dealer we sold Chevy next to Pontiac and the Term F41 was common... thoughts??

Hi Bruce,
All of the 70 T/A build sheets I have copies of list F41. And most of the '70 Formulas (all are 14" wheel cars) also show F41. And none of them have any extra cost for a suspension option on the invoice. For 70 Formulas, I've seen no evidence that ordering the 15" wheels/tires changed the suspension.

Y99 (handling package) came along for the '71/'72 models, and included the 15" wheels. Formulas equipped with Y99 will also show F41 on their build sheets.

I'm not sure what exactly F41 would have signified to the plant ... possibly only the fact that the car would have a rear stabilizer bar.

Thanks Keith, I guess its safe to assume that F41 was kept "internal" as far as RPO codes go @ Pontiac... ???

Starting in '74, the Norwood build sheets stopped showing the *(standard)F41. But, when Van Nuys started back up making them, F41 showed back up, listing this...

Wow, Thanks HFR! I do have some 72 info with it listed and yours shows it as the actual anti sway bar.. Very interesting, thanks for posting!
wonder if F-41 is listed and has a price in 79 on the window sticker ?
