its a 468, 10:1, 4.185 bore, 4.25 stroke, 6.800 rods, 72cc chamber heads, nitrided forged crank, eagle rods, custom JE pistons, jesel rocker assembly, ported E heads and port matched. comp cam 51-000-9. The tri-y is 1 3/4, but i think the issue is how the 2 fronts dump into one as the same for the 2 rears, to me it seems to be a restriction?? We put a set of super comps on after the first couple pulls with the tri-y's and pulled more #'s...i unfortunally did not keep the dyno sheet to give an exact number of the difference. Once again, nice headers, just did not work for our application.

Cool video though

Yea I think the biggest benefit of the tri's is the better ground clearance and more room around starter and oil filter. JMHO

wel im prety sure the 2 inch primaries of the Tri-Y headers wil make up for that loss!!!.i orderd mine with 2 1/8 but i settle for the 2 inch primaries.
Ground clearense is a major plus on the Tri-Y headers as wel

absolutly on the clearance issue...thats why the owner wants to put the tri-y's on the car...he is tired of scraping the headers off the ground. lol

I am sure that a 4 tube header is king for peak hp and peak torque numbers. If you are drag racing and you are keeping the rpm above 3-4k all time then I would say that would be best. But, average power is the most important for a car that uses a large rpm range. I feel sure that the super comps you used would have shifted the rpm range up and lost average power across the entire rpm range. But, like I said, that may be best depending on the application.

The thinking on bringing the two tubes together is scavenging. If you notice, it's the 2-4 and the 6-8 on one side, but the 1-5 and the 3-7 on the other. That's because those pairs of cylinders are all 270 degrees apart. That is the best you can do, without crossing over to the other bank. If you were able and they do it on some ford headers, you could have 360 degree headers, where there is equal timing between every pulse that scavenge pulses the best and would definitely give you the best possible effect. Its that scavenging effect that makes the most out of a givin size primary making it do the job of a larger less efficient design.

Lightbulb Self-Sponsor?

I ordered a set of coated Tri-Y's back in June 2005. I wonder if I could "sponsor" myself? If I could purchase another set and be my own sponsor, then I'd have a spare set for sale to someone who didn't want to deal with the wait and uncertainty?!

I currently have a very bad exhaust leak from my Dynomax headers, and really don't want to put the stock log manifolds back on it.

Hmmm....

Still waiting on my Tri-Y headers (since June 2005).

I thought I saw a post a week or two ago where Ron said he was shipping two sets out. Sure was hoping someone here would have received one of those sets. That would at least give me some hope that headers are being made.

Wondering what happen to my set that were supposed to be ready in October according to an email from Ron.

Yep another month...

Probably none of my buisness but I wouldn't send this dude another dime until he makes good on all his "prepaid" orders. Anyone who does is just palin nutz!
A better Idea would be to send me a money order for $750 and I won't send you a nice set of tri y-s.
Any takers?

Or you can send me $1,000.00 to sponsor a new set and then never really have any idea that you will get anything other than heartache and grief. Come on guys, just go buy you a set of headers and if you ever really do get a set you can sell them on the boards or switch-em on your car and then sell the headers you buy now.
