I have a '74 400 block with 670 heads and a '67 timing cover. Is the alternator mounting the same as a '67 or a '74?

Also, has anyone here used the Magnum 80 amp MGM-7127BSW (from Summit) or the Summit chrome 100 amp and how do they work.

Orrr... Which one wire replacement alternator do you suggest that is rated above the stock 63 amp?

The 74 alternator bracket will have an extra hole to mount to the head.

Probably easier to use the 67 mount, also will line up with pulleys better.

I just bought a 100 amp powermaster chrome alt from summit, and it's the nicest alt I've ever purchased. It came with a dyno tag where it tells you just how well that specific alt performed. They can also turn 20,000 rpm without being damaged. It was around $125. There's a link on summits website that will take you to powermasters website, if you want to read all about it.

Don't blame me cause your chevy broke down, you should have bought a PONTIAC!!
