I'm finding alot of people have more than one brand of collector car. You could setup a single forum to lump all the non-Pontiac Tech, Chat, and Classifieds into.

There are a number of PY members that are quite knowledgable about non-Pontiac stuff.
John, I like you and the info that you give us. But this IS a Pontiac forum, There are many chevy,Fords, dodges and what ever on the net, This a PONTIAC forum. Thank you my friend.

I also went to an Army "Helicopter Powertrain Repairer's" course after a fight with the ground ended my career as a Paratrooper (Airborne Infantryman). In these schools, and many ill-concieved repair attempts in friend's driveways, I have learned that life is much more pleasurable when using the correct tool for the job.
Any tips on modifying tools for a specific purpose, or having a tool made by a machinist, that would aid in repairing or rebuilding our Pontiacs, would be great. Even tips on which brands have great sizing/design for the money would help.

P.S. If I missed this on the site, please inform me.

What worked for me?

We've all had problems with removing, installing, troubleshooting, finding something to solve a problem or to replace an unavailable part.

It would be nice to see members sharing what they've done to solve real teaser problems. I'm going to post a solution I had to solve a seemingly impossible header installation problem.

I like that... sort of a "Solved Puzzles" forum. Hopefully body- or model-specific solved puzzles will end up their respective "TECH" sections, too!

2X what Baron said: a tutorial section for the more popular installations/projects.

Such as:
- installing disk brakes
- installing a 12-bolt rearend
- installing electric fan
- switching from auto to manual and vise versa
- cleaning aluminum anodizing

I imagine there are hundreds.......................

Mods may differ but the Electrical Issues seems to be the place for those issues...

Default Section for people to trade parts and cars

How about a section for the enthusiast to trade parts and cars? There are so many people who don't like to trade. The ones who do seem to irritate the people who don't trade. So how about a section geared toward them?

Well, after reading ALL of the posts, which I should have done in the first place, I would have realized that most if not all viable suggestions are pretty well covered. So with my best Emily Litella (Gilda Radner from early SNL shows) impersonation I'll say "Never mind". lol

I know it's been mentioned a couple times previously, but I believe a Pro-Touring topic area /section would be worthwhile. Sure, folks can start threads about their pro-touring projects in the appropriate model/year sections. The problem is that these threads are essentially invisible to people who have pro-touring projects in other model/year sections. Knowledge and insights from a pro-touring project involving a 70 Firebird that could be useful to someone working on a 64 Tempest, a 73 Ventura, or an 80 Firebird tend not to get shared here simply because folks don't visit all the other forums. Based on my experience, it's more likely to meet these people at protouring.com or lateral-g. It's also true that one can start pro-touring related threads in the general tech areas (interior, boost, suspension, electrical, etc., sections). Trouble is that the issues (problems, solutions, vendors, etc) that come up in pro-touring builds are often unique to that arena, and so replies may not be as helpful as they could be if pro-touring folks had a place to hang out. Having said all this, I'm not sure how many on here are involved in these types of projects or how many would need to be interested for it to be worth doing. I will say that as the supply of 69 Camaro project cars dries up, interest in pro-touring Pontiacs should increase. Just my 2 cents.
