Default Stupid Question Time??

What is the knob directly to the left of the steering column do on my '70 GP? It pulls in and out, but for the life of me I can't see what its doing. Hopefully this pic works.https://www.dropbox.com/s/z9b19gp3m5...pdash.jpg?dl=0

Does the knob also turn? If no then when you pull it in and out can you hear anything moving from under the IP?

Dunno, can't get my fat ace under the dash. Doesn't seem to turn, just pulls out like a headlight switch.

I'll try crawling under there this weekend.

Turns out it was just an on-off switch the previous owner had mounted for something. The wires were just cut off after the switch.
