Default 4” Paper Duct, What it’s Worth these days?

I have a 4” paper type ( hairy hose). What are they going for these days? I see the last design shiny type going to $300 in the box. I can’t even find one on ERape

The top one is the incorrect vinyl part.

When they were available, the retailers are asking $600-$900 for the hairy hoses on Ebay.

Last hairy hose one I bought in 2012 I paid $275.

A guy with a SD wants it. I’m just not sure what’s the going rate.

Since it's going on a Super Duty, get $1000 for it.

Last one I sold went for $1250. How about a better picture showing the entire hose?

I still need that piece for my 78, but I’m not that fussy to pay $300 for one for the sake of originality, it’s a duct for God’s sake, I’ll get a Repro. Good luck selling it, I’m sure some serious concourse guy will snap that right up.

The $300 newer issued GM part isn't even right either. You're better off with the aftermarket part for all intents and purposes.

Dorman 96070...

NOT available new anymore from the normal partshouses, but here is one:

Thanks! Actually Dorman is about 6 miles from me. I attend their car show every year, maybe I’ll just take a ride over there and save the shipping.

I show their part number number as discontinued. Maybe they will have one there or have a viable alternative.

Why is this part so hard to get? I mean really almost all the TAs have them, mine was missing when I got the car. I will check with Dorman though. Their warehouse is HUGE! There’s gotta be one floating around in there.

Short answer: Because these cars are very, very old.

This same hose was also used on the same era mid side and full size Pontiacs too.

That's crazy. I mean I guess I get it, if your car is 99.9 original GM parts and that's the one you are missing.

But man I look at that and Im like "Its that air tube, or a new transmission. One of these seems out of place"
