An automatic trans with A/C using that cam?
Steve....Greg....how did this cam effect drivability?
Ac or no ac, needs a stall converter, and drive ability must suck. who would want to drive it, or put gas in it, or smell it run..??. Without 4 series gears, this cam is a dog in a 455 off the line .Bet the pistons are covered in carbon.. what a waste

What do you guys know about this Florentine Red SD Formula from three years ago when it was at the Mecum Indy Auction. It was part of a forced sale (I think) of an investor's collection of Pontiacs. Anyone have any history on the car?

good luck Steve on search.

dream SD Formula: no AC, TA suspension, honeycombs, 4 speed, PS, PB, custom int, tinted windows, rain gutter trim option only, gauges & tach, formula wheel, that is all. no console, no power windows, extra trim, etc..... and that car in brewster green would kill. doubt they made one like that..... so... were any brewster green SD Formula's made?

Sold for $61k (plus commission) back in 2010. I know where the car is now, but I never heard of the car prior to that Mecum listing. Just wondering if anyone has some old gossip (or new gossip) on it: original engine?, body work, etc. You know the old Dragnet drill: "Just The Facts, Ma'am."

Feel free to PM me if you know anything.

Nice car but not all original. The fender decals are not correct but the rear spoiler one is. Engine is too detailed to be original. Exhaust looks too nice to be original. Shocks have been replaced. I wonder if those are the original tires. Hairy hose not correct. Hmmm.

Only one Brewster Green Formula was produced and its an Automatic no a/c with Saddle.
It was gold when found and two BIG bird collectors wanted it. It ended up being restored and was at the Nats last year.

Your Welcome!
Its not the best picture of Alan (the owner) but I think he has owned every SD ever made at one time or another.
Cheers

Absolutely stellar color combo on that Formula. Love that saddle interior.

An 041 cam in a 455 is not that big of a deal. A friend has one in his SD and it rips. I had one in an automatic T/A with a 400, auto trans, and 3.73 gears. It was a tire burning demon. I wouldn't be afraid of an 041 cam. There may be more modern cams that would work better but I wouldn't hesitate.

HPP has a similar picture of the Brewsters in the current issue. Along with someone's former car.

seen one of the parts place systems and it did not have the pipe area adjusted/formed for the crossmember. If downpipes are not a bit longer, ( vertically) could rattle on the crossmember

Nice HPP color head-on photo of 8 Brewsters in the current issue (September 2013 pgs 42 & 43).
Props to Christopher R. Phillip regarding his 28th TA NATS coverage.

Yeah I miss that car BUT I dont miss having to take care of it. Allot of work keeping a car like that!
Here are a couple pictures I took at the Nats now that HPP is out. Enjoy!

Here's that white with burgundy interior 73 SD auto T/A that sold on ebay 3 years ago. RK Motors has it now with buy it now price of 99k. It has only 300 more miles on it the 3 years since its last sale.

The rear end I doubt is original, (made after the car by around a week) but other than that its my Perfect idea of an SD! I would have to drive it..cant have that sitting! .Love the color combo, although nearly every restored #247 interior looks a bit different. Cant find many excuses NOT to own it, aside from its Not a Formy.. but its white!
