Nice 73 but fender bolts are white, welting around shaker, review mirror is chrome, valance is metal, no trim rings on the rims, Pontiac emblem on grills is missing, blacked out bezels, wrong turn signal lenses, bird is to far up on the hood........but nice car!

Duane, da birds are headed out to the feeder and then nest for the afternoon. You know where the bird nest is right ?
Where cleaning our feathers in da preparation for tomorrows gathering. Anyone within flying distance feel free to flutter by!
Ok last night was a long one so leave me alone! :}

Did I tell you the story about what happens when your oil filter blows off at 65 mph ?

Blowing oil filters sounds kind of dirty. My SD used to to that too. I switched to the Mobile M1 and haven't had the problem since.

Yeah, I had my oil changed for the first and last time by someone else in Kingsford Michigan and they used some Pennzoil sh!t filter and obvious didnt torque it a quarter turn.
I have a PIX on it now and snugged her up good and tight!
Biggest mess I've ever had to clean on this car and was a real disappointment. My Poor Baby!

What? You let someone else change the oil on that beast?

I'm so anal, I fill up my oil filter with fresh oil before I install it.

Okay, question for you June built SD guys. How many of you have the distributor vacuum solenoid shown in the picture without the timer I show in the second picture. I've seen some cars around june/july with and without that timer, but I can't be sure of originality and the other car wasn't and SD.

Nobody with an SD has that timer. It was used up to 4/15/73 on engines but there were no SD's sold with them because the FEDs figured it out and held up the certification of the engine prior to release. It could be had on 400's and 455's up until the change over.

Interesting. I met a friend from this board who has a non SD july T/A with that timer. It appeared to be a very original car. That one piece threw me off.

I would never say never but it is the change from this piece that prompted the EPA to order Pontiac to change the engine color in mid 73 so that they could recognize engines that were EPA legal. Those engines do not have the timer.

The first picture you show is normal and does not sport the timer in question. My June cars carry the same items as photo one.

Oh, the carb spring should be Yellow!

That plugs into the back of the that solenoid, then the existing wiring plugs into that.

Brew, I've been looking for a yellow one for a while. I'll get on that soon though, sir!

Yeah, that sounds correct. I always screw that up when I typing a quick response. Too many dates to remember but my point was made nonetheless.

Here is a cool car that is listed on Ebay. Its pretty sweet however there are some things that have been restored for it being titled as a unrestored survivor.

It's gone now. I didn't get to see it. I wonder if it was even legit?
