Default '67 GTO Seat Adjuster Knobs

I hope this is in the right place, I searched all over but didn't find an answer.

How do you remove/ install the chrome knobs from the seat adjusters? I cannot find any sort of set screw that hold them on. I seem to remember something about using a C-clamp (?) to install them but that was years ago.

If anyone has done this before, please pass on any tips or experience you have.
Thanks!

Ok that doesn't sound too bad and I will watch it when pulling them off.

Now $64 dollar question: how do you install the new ones?
I presume you don't beat them on with the palm of your hand. Obviously I don't want to destroy the new ones!

Any idea's or suggestions?
Thanks again.
