Default radiator / to paint or not to paint?

Got an aluminum radiator for 65 gto. Will it affect cooling to paint it? If painted, what kind of paint would be used?

They make paint specifically for radiators that won't inhibit their cooling properties. Just google 'car radiator paint'.

For me there's nothing more distracting then admiring one of the many Great PMD grill/front end designs and seeing aftermarket bits.
IMO painting is a must.

Cheers.

I read on a thread on here a while back a post by CCASS. He suggested a good cleaning. (with de-greaser I believe) a light dusting of self etching primer and radiator black paint (like Eastwood).
Good luck

For an aluminum radiator I sent mine out to McNichols Anodizing in Michigan and had mine satin black anodized. Looks fantastic and has held up exceptionally well. This way the inside is also protected from corrosion and I don't have a barrier of paint thickness to prevent optimum cooling. McNichols can anodize in multiple colors if you so choose.
