Default 71 bucket Seat bottom spring assembly same as nova

In need of a new seat bottom spring for my 71 Lemans w/buckets and a buddy has a used one from a 70 nova with buckets. Anyone know if they interchange?

Buddy is in a different state so I can’t put my hands on to compare, but pics look like the same.

Repoped springs are available, I would not use a 50 year old spring. Of course I could stand to skip a meal or 2!

Thanks for the info, unfortunately the springs are shot, rusted thin and about 6 springs are broken. Would have to replace everyone of them. That let me to see if the nova seat bottom are the same. Otherwise, I’d pick up a repop if novas are different.

The Nova repop springs will be basically the same as your 71 lemans, the spring side listing rods may be in a different location and have to be moved to match yours, but otherwise should be the same.

If i remember right, a 71 lemans has the center listing tuck?

Just use your originals as a guide and you'll be fine.

I don't usually recommend repops as they are way too stiff IMO... but if your originals are too far gone, then thats about your only choice other than fabbing & repairing the originals.
