Correct, if you had either mono radio you could order the optional "sepraphonic" rear speaker option which was controlled by the right knob bezel and it would be mounted on the passenger side rear shelf or top well. If factory installed in a coupe you'd get a mesh covered shelf that would hide the speaker but if dealer added they'd cut a hole in the cardboard shelf and use a black metal grill.

I'm good on 69 radios, have at least one of each.

I think we've seen this one before, but it's too cool not to mention cause I'm not sure. 69 Firebird Goldenrod yellow 400 convert at $53K in Indiana. Talk about a hen's tooth. Beautiful car and loaded with options.

70 GTO in Ohio with the "Humbler" exhaust option at $130K BIN. What? PHS is a blurred out mess, but talk about rare.

What’s the deal with these VOE cars? That convertible several months ago pulled big money and this car has an asking price almost triple the normal selling price of a base engine GTO hardtop, and it doesn’t even have its VOE system.

That being said a nice car and VOE is a nifty conversation piece. Also I just love that interior color, beautiful!

That is a cool car. The interior is a nice color. I noticed the seat covers appear to have "solid" centers. I thought all 70 GTO seat covers used ComfortWeave. Was there a leather option?

Default VOE 70 GTO

Seller states in his auction that all VOE cars were WT 400 optioned only, no R/A or Judge cars. I thought "The Humbler" was a R/A Car. The value of The Humbler is also that it was used in the commercial and was it body serial 000001, and likely other options that I'm forgetting.

No leather option, probably just reproduced or restored incorrectly. Getting a functional VOE set up, a return to its 4 speed, and getting the rear of the car back down where it belongs would go a long way.

For $130K you shouldn't have to do a thing to it. It is a cool car and I agree with white paint the interior color works really well. If it was a brown car... not so much.

69 Firebird convertible in Virginia at $5.5K NR. Looks like the odd tach placement would be banging against your leg constantly. Dash switches look horrible. Looks like a clean car.

I like it and the price seems very fair from what I can see. In fact, I think I'd fix any mechanical problems, get the door panels and drive it!

70 GTO at $14.5K NR in NC. Looks nice enough. These hoods bend just past the end of the hinges, because there's a cutout intended to buckle the hood in a head-on. This hood looks like someone fixed it wrong, or maybe all it needs an alignment?

I agree. Also get rid of the Judge crap and put on some 15 X 7" Rally II's. The wheels on this car are 17". Stock was prolly 14", but the 15" Rally II's look awesome with a deep dish. I think the 15" 70 Grand Prix Rally II wheels were the ones to target. I'd love to sit in that car with those seats and smell it. The 69's and 70's has a distinct smell. Not like a Volkswagen, which is strong, but subtle and very distinct, like a Christmas tree.

Well, then buy the car and change the wheels.

Wheels are not a non-wear item. They get bent, lug holes worn out, etc.

I have those same wheels on my 71; light and don't have to run crap tires like BFG's.
