I don't want the truck but I want his expertise working for me. I have a 326 and maybe he can coax 500+ hp out for me.

"its a good engine.its been sitting for a few years.they only made this engine for 3 years." But it's a 1972 year model engine. How did they make it for three years? For $6,000 I think I'd have a talk with one of the many Pontiac engine builders around here and end up with something MUCH nicer.

I dont have that much in my 455 with forged rods, forged pistons, and other heavy duty parts and machining-close to it, but maybe next time I'll spend a few more hundred and step up to the used 400 2 bbl engine. Seems to me the Pontiac 400 was made from 1967-1978, with the engine available through 1979. I know someone who has a 1967 Pontiac Catalina with the 400 2 bbl that came in the car originally. Maybe they skipped some years for it to still be available in 1972, and only to have been made for 3 years.

I thought that they only made the '72 Pontiac engine for one year.....you know...for 1972 Pontiacs.
