Default 1962 GP wiper linkage

The shop manual says to remove body parts to gain access to wiper unit crank arm and transmission link rods. Has anyone here removed the cover that’s right below the windshield? How difficult was it? Thanks

Not difficult to remove. Hand full of screws and 2 big "gland nuts" Be careful not to chew those up as they are exposed and decorative. If you don't have the factory tool or a spanner wrench and have to use pliers, I would use parallel jaw pliers and tape the jaws with electrical tape so you don't mar them.

I was wondering if the cover had bolts on each end going through the fenders. Sounds like they don’t. Thanks for the info!

Those chrome nuts under the wiper arms are very delicate so be very careful taking them off and particularly putting them back on. It is very easy to cross thread them.
