Default 69 GP fiberglass gas tank filler panel goes under license plate

If anyone knows what this part is actually called I'd love to know. This piece goes in behind the bumper and around the gas tank filler. Removed from a 69 GP. this part looks NOS. Almost positive its never been repainted. $50 shipped.

It looks like the fiberglas replacement part that Ames was selling years ago before a better version became available for more $$. Original part was made of a plastic (vinyl?) type material.

I believe original ones have clips on the backside of the sides that help hold the part tight to the bumper. I’ve had my 69 GP since 1973 (46 years) and it still has the original part. Ames has started selling an injected molded part that they claim is “correct in all aspects”. They also stopped selling their Fiberglas version part. Believe what you want. Perhaps the person that just bought that 69 GP with 13,000 original miles can check theirs by reaching through the opening (around the filler pipe) and feeling the backside of the part. If it’s smooth it’s molded plastic, if it’s rough it’s Fiberglas.

I don't really care. Thanks for your unsolicited commentary
