'65 Catalina, 421 tripower, 4 speed north of Chicago
Is anyone here familiar with this car? Its a '65 Catalina with a 421 tripower and a 4 speed. It's got everything I like (need!?!?). The ad states is was born with a 421, but it was replaced at some point. Then later on it states they believe it originally had a 421 and a 4 speed.
CLICK ME - 1965 Pontiac Catalina Tri-Power 4-speed Thanks!!

The PHS build card shows WH engine which is a 356 (tripower, nonHO) hp. for a manual trans. It also shows that it came from the factory painted white with black painted wheels.
I also hate the cheap Grant steering wheel when a nice reproduction can be had.

My main gripe with the car as well - don't understand why people cheap out on the one thing you have your hands on and see all of the time when you are driving! Really looks out of place on this car, IMO.

The other thing that jumped out at me was the pinstripe. Obviously not original due to color change from white (code C), but I think(?) pinstripes like this may have been specific to the 2+2 in '65? Wonder why the original owner didn't just get a 2+2 as this thing is optioned out like one.
Neither this or the steering wheel are dealbreakers to me - just minor annoyances. I think the color change was an improvement. White doesn't do these big cars justice in most cases, IMO. |

Unless it's full of bondo or something that is a very fair price for that car.

Trunk pan looks like a sheet of metal. No original contours. Seam up and under spare tire.

Rear seat is correct. Front buckets are from a 65 GP.

Didn't notice that. So that is a cobbled together car.
