Default White Pontiacs

I am repainting the 67 this winter. When I painted it white 20+ years ago I used Ford truck white. Original 67 white is called Ivory. Looking for pic of cars painted the original white. If I can get someone to take a picture of white printer paper on your white car would be great.
I can not believe how may shades of white there are.

Thanks

Both my oldest '65 GTO and my '62 Grand Prix were Cameo Ivory with red interior. Definitely a color you generally won't see at many shows.

My mom and stepdad had a 64 Pontiac Star Chief 4 door HT that was white with a painted Turquois top. Turquois interior. Gorgeous car until the NY North Country's winter weather started rusting the whole driver's side of the body from behind the front tire to the rear. The cow sh*t from the farm down the road didn't help either. Instead of getting it repainted he traded it for a Gold on Gold 70 post 4 door Catalina. That car was a big letdown.

I haven't seen a 64 Pontiac Star Chief 4 door HT in white paint ever since that one. I miss that hunk of iron.

Not to mention how many shades of white printer paper there are.

Your desire to go back to the original stock white makes sense and is one of the considerations on our white 65 2+2 when we go for the repaint. One side of our brain says it must stay traditional while the other says to blend in pearl and end up with a Mercedes Polar White or one of the dozens of other pearl whites now being offered on modern cars. The pearls look pretty much like a standard white in the shade or night until they are out in the sun.

Over 25 years ago I used some left over Ford truck white to paint some seat backs and trim on my '67 GTO interior. It was a dead match to the factory Cameo Ivory......a nice creamy white.

GM only used two white colors during the 60's and 70's and they constantly
changed from one to the other depending on model year. The colors they used
were Bright White, and Cameo White. the Cameo White was the white that
had a yellow tint to it. Your 67 Cameo White is the exact same white used on
Cameo White 79 firebirds

Then the 64 Pontiac Star Chief was Bright White. No yellow tint. Thanks for that, now I know. Never knew until now.

I decided to go with a super bright white. It is the whites of white's. I think it is white with no tint added. It's going on my 67 street legal race car so it's not to important to me to be factory correct. I wanted something easy to touch up and match because it will be getting abused. I was just curious in what shade the ivory white was.
I am thinking of painting the lower part of the car to simulate the original trim. It will be the same dark silver as the fiberglass bumpers. Which will tie the front and back together.

The car came from the factory black with black interior. Wanted something easier to maintain. Had a black Vett and boy was that a job keeping clean.

This one was probably special ordered. It was originally triple white (with white vinyl top also), top pulled when repainted. Probably should have not sold it.
