My original paint SD was sans SD scoop decals when I bought it..

My dad said back in 73 when his car came in on the transporter it had 18 miles on the odometer and rubber chunks from the rear tires stuck to the quarters.

Yes, interesting (but frustrating for me because I didn't win anything!) auction.
The $210K SD was a Green 4-spd TA so I expected it to command a premium. But I expected the Red A/T SD to be closer to $120-125K.
Anyone here end up victorious on either?

Post World wide auction

I was hoping to acquire the 74, but came home empty handed as well.

Baron - Thanks for the heads up! (will keep my eyes open for that).
In all actuality I knew I wasn't coming home with the Steele 74 SD as they alwys seem to be just out of reach for me. However I had to take a shot at it as I have a Nocturne (very close to Admiralty blue) 79 TA with a customer order Oyster(off white) and blue interior. The only difference between my car and the 74 was the steering wheel (black vs Blue) and the carpet (dk blue vs lt blue). So I really wanted the matching cars...

Whooaaa
that would have made an unreal pair of siblings.

Heavily ironic they both had custom accents with standard interior too.
Good luck making a match like that again !

i had a Nocturne 79 4.4.4. T/A too.
My vote for best color in 79

Baron- yep would have been a really cool pair of cars in the garage. And like you said it was probably a one time shot at it as I have never seen another 74 like that and was bummed I couldn't bring it home.

Telly- would be interested in the SD. I'll send you a pm with my contact information.

With the 80 amp - pretty sure there was also supposed to be an additional idler pulley in the arrangement. Reason for the belt difference - length.
