SEM custom mixed C-VP5855 for 71-72 Camaro. I have no idea why they had it primarily listed under a Camaro application which it is wrong for, but it is perfect for the 73 Firebird. I used it for the inside door strap pull caps when I had to replace them on my 75.
So Steve this can Is a very nice match to above pics on the interior ....

I did kick panels, seat backs/bases, armrest bases/pads, console cover and rear side panels/armrests and it took exactly 3 cans of Color Coat.

I would get an extra can, just in case. You don't want to be short.

I'd say buy four cans if you're doing a lot of the interior. You never know when they will stop selling this custom blended color. SEM is a great product. Make sure you do a lot of light coats or else you risk filling up the grain if the coast is too thickly applied.

I see the can says plastics , vinyl , velour etc .......ever used it on metal with any results .....A posts are metal so just curious....
I guess I could get some one to mix something to work with metal if this is not applicable...matching it to this SEM PRODUCT

It's PAINT.....with flex agents etc.....and will stick to most anything that is prepped properly...

Good prep...is the key to ANY successful paint job.......Read the directions....

Use SEM CLEAN....prior to painting....

The SEM product works great on everything. I use the SEM Landau Black for interior stuff, metal trim, it's awesome for radiator shrouds!

I just used SEM White interior dye on the metal interior trim (changed it over from black) on my 70 Cuda and it worked great. I used regular grey sandable primer first, on the metal parts just so the dye would have better coverage.

I just sprayed the dash yesterday. It's closer, but not perfect. Still on the light side.

Good news is the headliners and rug came in, and they match perfectly.

Remember that the interior panels did not all have the exact same color. Here's my 75 and my 73. Both unrestored original.

So went to pick up the paint I ordered and just by looking at the lid it was waaaaaay to light almost like the pics of the buckskin in the samples...
I had taken my A post covers with me and the lady at the counter (Crystal) got out her paint chip books and they had a hole in the centre so we could lay it over top of the A post and choose something very close....
She mixed it up and adjusted the tone to this .....
I shot the back side edge it's about 1/4 wide of one of my A post to compare with the frt side of the other ...here is the result..
What ya think????

Looks great.

FWIW...originally I don't think the A-pillar matched exactly the rest of the interior (mine didn't). But I agree that it looks much better this way.
