Are modified SD's allowed in this section? Starting build on a '73 with SD heads going on a 496. Otherwise, I'll post in the general area, if at all.

Thanks.

I just bought the heads. If my memory is right I think they were cast in Nov., of 1972.

Don't know anything about the SD car or block.

Looks like one of those guards you install on the compressor to keep it from slinging oil all over the hood and fender.

I would have guessed the belt guard too. That said, I have heard legend of oil drip shields for the motor mounts. I'm not sure if it was ever a thing for the SD's or if any members here have them. Here's the only pic I have. I'm not sure where it came from but possibly an old eBay auction. I only have the one pic of them too so I apologize for the angle.

Default 1974 Trans am SD455 80amp Alternator & Starter Harness routing

Hi here is another question about the Harness that runs over the intake manifold on the driver side LH and going to the 80amp alternator and split and go to the starter

The question is the starter harness go in front on the engine and behind the Power steering pump and after go on the side of the engine thru the starter
or
the harness go inside the protector shield where runs the positive battery cable and runs under the engine please review pics

i take this pic from another SD455 but dont know is correct non AIM or Shop manual show correct routing for starter harness with 80amp Alternator

thanks again
