I’m looking to buy a ‘55 Catalina. The seller sent me some pictures and I spotted what may be a pine hole in a fuel line. From what I see the original pump would only have had the fuel inlet and outlet fitting, no tank return line. So what would the second line in the frame be? The seller isn’t as knowledgeable, so would like to figure this out, as the car may be driven home if I buy it. Don’t want to be “sucking air “ on the trip!
Thanks Edit, I tried to zoom in on the potential leak, but that photo wouldn’t post. There are the 2 lines in the frame rail, one has a wet spot, that’s my concern.

The heater unit was under the seat on those cars, those are heater hoses. Only way I know this is from owning a 56, many years ago.
I imagine if you weren't too concerned with originality that the solid portion could be formed from soft copper tubing. If you wanted steel, then electrical conduit could be used with a conduit bender to form new lines. |

So I assume the lines in these pictures are part of that system, and the fuel line is inboard on the frame?
BTW, are the seats themselves heated? Or how does this system work. I had heard mention of it, but not really something I researched. Thanks

If the heater tube has a hole in it, you can cut the line at the leak and use a piece of hose

For a "drive home" I'd disconnect the heater lines at the timing cover and put in a bypass hose. Then you could deal with a better fix at home.

Heater core is under the driver's but & a duct goes over it to direct air where most practical.
