Default Need correct p/n for a '69 Olds H/O QJet

Sorry if this is a topic on Olds, but we have a couple of brains when dealing with Qjets namely CR and Jon.. Now that I have tried to butter you guys up, here we go; I need the definitive part number for a '69 Olds H/O Qjet.. Believe the line code has to be RJ and the Julian date has to be in the first 4 months of 1969.
Tried dealing with some Olds people a couple of years ago, and the carb I have is a "grocery getter" unit, even though a top Olds guru has the same numbered unit on his stock H/O car with the above-stated line code.. Going through some parts and came across this carb and remembered the issue was not settled.
Thanks 'n sorry about Olds and Poncho on this thread, but maybe someone can straighten this 'un out with me.
Thanks!!
T.

I believe "H.O." refers to Pontiacs.

1969 Olds W-30 7029254

1969 Olds W-31 7029255

Go easy on the butter, unfortunately, no longer on my diet!

I think he is referring to the "Hurst/Olds" package rather than the HO Pontiac engine.

I didn't think about the Hurst/Olds option.

That was a 455.

Rochester does not specify a carburetor for the Hurst/Olds.

Rochester specified 7029251 for 455 engines other than the Toronado and 7029252 for the Toronado engine.

AFAIK, the H/O carb wasn't unique. Other than the date, it's a rather common number. I might even have one on my shelf?

Good morning 242177P and Jon!!
Does the 5 digit Q-Jet carb number 29251 line code RJ and then 1149 seem correct as a 69 Olds H/O that were built in Apr - May 1969.. Just those 2 months with the 5 digit coding!!
Thanks you!!
Ted

Many Q-jet carbs were produced without the '70' prefix in the carb number. And the 114th day of 1969 was April 24th. So, you may have a winner.

Yawzzur! This is where I am getting hung-up.. I need a real Olds guru to step up and gimme the straight 'skinny' on the first four months of 29251 Julian date production.
Went onto an Old board a couple of years ago and it wasn't 'zactly pleasant.
I was told it was an every day grocery getter carb in a heck of a lot of station wagons and other Olds units..
Carb ain't a doing me any good sitting on the shelf, but, I want to be honest with a potential buyer and advertise it correctly once and for all.
Funny thing on the Olds Board, was that I was getting offers in a PM status from guys who were naysaying the carb and the related line manufacturing code and Julian Date.
Still kinda up *****z creak widdout dee proverbial paddell, eh??
Anyone out there - Jon etc etc

"Went onto an Old board a couple of years ago and it wasn't 'zactly pleasant."

The Olds Power board, or whatever it's called woln't even let me sign up. I've filled out their form several times and have been denied access.

They are probably pissed off at me for mentioning that Old's Q-jets continued to use the early float design till 1974.

There is PLENTY of bad mouthing of my comments over there, and I can't get on to help clear things up.....FWIW.....Cliff

CR, watcha doing on a Saturd. night a peckin' away at the keys on such a mundane subject ? ?

For someone from St. Hubert, you sound (type) a lot like Maritimer, maybe even a Newf. What's the scoop?

Good evening Simonds New Brunswick.. Nope I am not from down East.. Came outta a fine place called Verdun in the SouthWest corner of Montreal and am now on the South Shore for a bit.
Just a trying to straighten out this carb question once and for all. Heard on the grapevine that the 29251 RJ coded carb is good on various Olds cars, but the Julian date has to be within the first 4 months of 1969 ONLY to make it a real Hurst / Olds
carb..
Wanta put her up for sale, but do not want to pull the wool over anyone's eyes so, in order for me to advertise honestly, I have come to the place where CR @ Jon subside.
Take care me 'Hearties' eh!
T.
