I'm currently looking at a 1960 Laurentian Safari. I'm not real familiar with older Pontiacs especially Canadian built. As a Canadian built car it rides on a Chevy chassis and has a Chevy drivetrain.
If I were to purchase this car I'd want to make a few modifications to it. Some would be to make it safer and more comfy for it's mission... a cross country trip with the family. Is there a bolt on disc brake swap available? More importantly is it difficult to put proper Pontiac power into one of these half-breeds? I'm thinking of a 400 and overdrive traansmission. Any input or advice is appreciated.

Not very difficult at all, I've done it on a '61 Laurentian sedan. Any brake kit to suit '58-'64 Chev will fit straight up.
Good luck. Dave |
