I can’t get the wiper motor working on my 67 GTO. I’ve got the 67 Pontiac manual and I’m bench testing it according to the connection for testing figure 12–57. I’ve connected a jumper wire from terminal three terminal one I connected terminal two to the positive side of the battery And I have a text to ground from the negative side of the battery to the body of the wiper motor. It doesn’t run it will run if I leave the jumper on terminals, one or one and three run the battery positive to terminal two and run and touch the ground wire from the battery to terminal three it will run , it will run low and high speed but immediately when I disconnect the ground from terminal three or one and connected to the housing of the motor. It will not work. What the heck am I doing wrong?
I’ve got a couple of pictures to show how I’m testing.
I’ve been fighting this for about a month! Can anyone offer some advice?

The jumper wire has to be to ground also?

The case/body needs to be grounded.

Thanks guys, I was sitting thinking about it, took another look at my pictures, I realized the jumper wires between terminals three and one had to go to ground. It now works on the bench and I’m about to try to see if it works in the car.
