G8 V8 MPG
What are you guys getting for MPG, A6, M6, GT, GXP?
I'd like to upgrade my DD to something with balls. Tired of the Outback.
Thanks-
John

Uh, the way i drive my G8GT....14, 16 if I'm lucky! Get one, get a tune and you'll do low 20s easily. Whatever you do buy now, deals abound especially if you are looking for a summer only G8 setup, slap on some blizzaks and go!

'09 G8/GT mpg A6 V8 with 26000 miles on car
My car is bone stock.
Conservative driving nets me 20mpg plus just 'bopping around'. Best highway driving on interstate trip netted 28.7 mpg (that's my best so far) using cruise control as much as possible. These are calculated mpg's not from the DIC - tank topped off at fillups and calculated mpg re. odometer miles driven using 87 octane gas. Keeping tire pressures at optimum (for me): 35 psi fronts and 38 psi rears - cold pressure - contributes to good mileage due to low rolling resistance. Conservative starts from a stop and letting the car slow down naturally when having to stop always helps. Remember that anytime you brake you are absorbing power used to move the car forward, thereby wasting energy (and gas).
Yes, I know that this sounds like boring driving, but the result is better gas mileage, extended brake pad life, tire life, and transmission life. I'm not saying I don't step on it occasionally because I do, but that's when it's 'needed' for whatever reason (you figure that out). I've had hi-performance cars most of my more than 57 years of driving life and still enjoy the 'surge' when the opportunity presents itself, but constantly driving a machine in 'performance mode' because you can doesn't reward you with good mpg
Have fun, but above all be safe.

we just traded
we just traded the wife's 99 C5 for a 09 G8 GT. we needed something that is capable of towing our 21' Checkmate, & a G8 is the only vehicle out there that can tow the boat & give me a little bit of excitement.

2009.5 GXP A6 10,000 miles I can average right at 22/23 on the interstate long trips, that at 70+
Have no idea on around town driving as the closest "town" is 50 miles away.

well since I told the salesman at the stealership the car better be right, we can not pick it up until Sunday or Monday. then I still need to build a hitch for it since you can not buy a hitch in the US that is capable of towing 3500 lbs.

My 09 G8GT gets 18MPG around town and up to 25MPG on the highway. I drive 80-85 MPH so YMMV.

Thats exactly what my 09 GT is getting. Sounds like our driving styles are the same lol. Some mornings its tripple digits just depends on traffic. Its nice that you dont have to beat on it to get it there. It just wants to go!

G8 GXP 6M, average 20 mpg. Have gotten 25.6 best on Hwy and about 16 worst in a lot of "spirited" stop & go driving.

08 GT with CAI and a tune.
I run 93 octane because of the tune, and I can get 26-27 on a long trip. Normally high teens/low 20s in daily mix of highway/surface streets.
Here is the interesting thing, I bought the tuner solely to turn OFF the annoying DOD (the thing that makes it a 4cyl to "save gas") and my MPG didn't move an inch. If anything the 93 tune probably moved it up a little.
So for MPG, you can get away with a tuner and slapping that bad boy in 8cyl all the time and not lose a thing (good excuse anyway).
