Default Wiper blade size and refills?

My 69 Firebird has 15" long wiper arms/blades on it now. They look like the original metal wiper arms. Is that what length they should be stock?

Also where is everyone buying their wiper blade inserts? Seems the auto part stores only sells arms with blades and not refills anymore.

Thanks!

Last time I checked GM was still selling 16 or 18" refills, I just cut them to size

You can get AC Delco, Trico, or Anco at Rockauto.com for $4.05 to $8.73 each in the 15" size to replace original inserts. I think most originals were Trico.

Why go through the hassle of a GM dealer when you can get them cheaper and without dealing with a parts counter person who knows nothing about old cars?

good point, in Canada we don't really have those large retail autoparts stores like you do in the US, it's either dumpy little shops geared to the garage trade or big box junk stores like Canadian tire which are closer to being a Target than an autparts store.
