What if Pontiac was offered as a limited edition or exclusive release, say take the Camaro and do the Trans Am conversion? Or the CTS-V and offer an old name badge?

I too don't think Pontiac can come back. You can bring back the names and badging but can you bring back the spirit? or the excitement? or most importantly, the Pontiac loyal customer.

Let's all just enjoy what it was...and man, wasn't it something?

Nailed it. The article was ludicrous. Electric cars? Really? Why is it that all the whack-jobs that I know that own or support electric cars think that electricity just 'happens'? That no coal or fossil fuel needs to be burned, that no hydrogen sulfide battery packs need to be made, that no HUGE carbon footprint is stomped into the ground every time one is built? What has less impact on environment---a Pontiac that was made 30-50 years ago, or a Tesla being made today using up our current resources?

If GM can make a 100,000 dollar Corvette, just build a camaro, badge it Pontiac and bump the price by 1/3. Make is a limited edition and there you go.

best line of the blog article... "dissolving into a pool of molten plastic cladding that was once ribbed for your pleasure".

the idea that pontiac would come back to build 'sporty' crossovers and SUVs absolutely misses the mark though. it won't happen - and i don't want to see it happen - but let the other GM manufacturers cover the horrible SUV market and let pontiac focus on a niche car(s). i hate that every manufacturer now makes a SUV-ish vehicle just to make enough money/compete so they can continue to make sports cars. very sad state, but it is the means to an end.
