So it appears they considered the TA hood for the Formula as a RAM AIR hood.
(and probably included in the count of 1,478 RA Formula)

The data Formulajones posted from the Red Book seems to be what the sheet shows except it didn't include the 455?
(maybe they didn't know what 35W was, or possibly the W was for 'with'?)

Correct, the Red Book says ram air hood only available with "35S only" and there is no mention of it being available for the 35W (455 d-port engine)

But I'm not saying that is correct, it's just what the book says and we all know that books over the years have discrepancies.

Looks like you have Canadian docs there listing WU3. I'd say you have yourself a 455 RA car.

Those are PHS docs for a Canadian export car not GM of Canada Docs.

Dave if you ever want to compare a GM of Canada vs PHS packet, you should pop by;
For Canadian exports, the paperwork from PHS paperwork is a little different than if it was originally sold state-side - but when you compare the two packets, the GM Canada historical packet seems rather mickey mouse...

As an example, an example
order sheet is included with PHS but not GM-Canada...

I have been lately posting not 100% accurate info because I am going totally from memory - but even if I was at home with the info I have collected handy, I wouldn't be able to cite ordering sheet info, because I only have access to 1970 & 1973 packets (The former I ordered for my brothers car, and gave to him when I gave him the car).

No the car is real. Sadly we founder out yesterday that the engine in the car is not original. It is however a 1974 455. M40 in the car is not original but original M40 comes with the car.

Still thinking on the car at this time.

I don't know if that would be a deal breaker or not, depends on if it's priced right. But it still sounds like a pretty neat car. You could take it PS racing without worry of damage to the original block. Trying to look at the glass half full

I couldn't help but notice the repro window sticker you posted. Please let me know, if you buy the car, if you would like a more accurate window sticker. I've corrected a lot of Canadian invoice window stickers lately for Pontiac show cars. Just an FYI - the Ram Air Hood and Engine Block Heater prices shown on that window sticker are dealer cost prices, not the correct retail prices.

That's a VERY early Norwood build car, shipped out in August 1973. And yes, that is a Ram Air car.

looks very nice.

Here's some of my critical knee-jerk thoughts;
- Seat covers should probably be removed, and re-installed, they aren't sitting quite right.
- rear dual speakers is not correct (only one speaker in rear dash available - the spare tire tucked up under where hte passenger side rear speaker sits)
- steering wheel is wrong year; I am pretty sure I see a silver ring around the rim of the wheel which is 1969-1971, and 1972-1974 wheels used a centre section which had a metal insert - along with different horn buttons with matching metal covers.
- radio is far from correct
- I prefer a factory correct cross flow muffler behind the diff - mufflers in that location tend to scrape on the ground more often than you might care; the dynomax muffler sold for late model Grand Nationals is what I am running, I love it.

All those points aside, it does look like a VERY nice car, and I'm sure most people could live with those modifications.

John, not in 1974. The Options were in UPC order for 1974, and the Option Code was not displayed. In later years, Pontiac changed to an alphabetical order, based on a portion of the option code description.

On the 1974 example that oldsmobiledave posted, the area in the lower left (Routing Code data) should have been filled in too.

... and since I mentioned that the pictured wheel was wrong, here's an example of a correct 1974 unit, in a 1974 GTO;



Notice the lack of a metal ring along the edge of the wheel(?);
In it's place is a recess.

Notice the metal insert on the centre of the wheel, and matched metal covers for the horn buttons?
