no, i never heard of a vacuum release. i actually rigged up a a long choke cable. the handle is in the bottom of the passenger rear ash tray. just flip the ash tray lid and pull up on the handle and "pop"

i ll try to post some pics of it later if you guys would like.

Mt brothers car is dead. Sitting in the driveway for over 6 months. Paint still looks fabulous.

Car is junk though....
