That VA event has kind of morphed into the PY Open house event. Last Year Jim Zeek promoted a Pontiac race and car show at Maple Grove Raceway in conjunction with the PY open house. Not sure if he is doing it again this year or not.

FYI last year I was disappointed with the Car Show. We had to pay the full amount to simply park my Firebird like it was a cruise. There was no one there to direct us, and we got nothing no dash plaque, no event schedule, no name card for the car, nothing! I was under the impression the Keystone State Chapter POCI was going to judge the cars. They could have atleast had a top 25 or something like that if they didn't want to have specific classes due to spacing them. I know shows are a lot of work, but parking them like they did, as you come in, they could have had a Top 25 awards and one best in show.

it was a cruise in. the kspoci ran the show at py therefore there was no one to run a show at mg. pontiacs had a special area to park and hang out in. you were not charged anything more than anyone other than racers and got a prefered parking area. sorry you were disappointed.

Where ya' been? Hasn't been a Pontiacs in the Park in 3 years.

Check out the PY open house and the Pontiac show/race on Sunday at Maple Grove Raceway.

Little reminder folks...the reason Pontiacs in the Park went away was because nobody supported it...don't support the MG deal and it can go away too, and Pontiac only events are few and far between these days.

More like not enough people supported it. I was there several times, and brought family and friends. I also spent a few thousand dollars on parts, having PY bring my parts orders there so I could pick them up.
Many traveled much further than I did to attend, like Hooter, Rob B., P. Dude, etc. Hell, even guys like Bruno from Canada made the trip. It was good while it lasted.

The only mention of a race this year at the Grove is on Maple Groves web site. I did not see anything about it in the PY thread.

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=719973 Maybe Jim Z could weigh in on this.
