Some idiot showing off plowed into the pickup parked next to us and knocked the pickup into our 64 Lemans. We are in need of a new "full" quarter panel. I don't care what it costs (the moron's insurance is going to have to pay for it). Does anyone know where I can find an NOS passenger side rear QP? Does anyone know of a good hit man?

I'm in the concrete business, if you like I'll pour you a pair of concrete boots for that aho, what size shoes he wear?

Make sure one of those stingy insurance adjusters doesn't make you repair it with filler.

Man that sucks! Unfortunately I can relate. My '69 Lemans was hit in the side last year by an unmanned Kia that rolled from another parking lot.
I got it fixed without a nickel out of pocket, however the insurance co. is only going to want to pay to fix the damaged area. They want to pay the absolute minimum.
Do you have classic car insurance on it? What I ended up doing was have Hagerty (my insurance co.) pay to get it fixed and then they collected from her insurance. That route saved me a whole lot of headaches.
Best of luck to you. I hope you get her back as good as new.

I've been all over the internet trying to find a NOS QP, but if they exist they're scarce as hen's teeth. I may have to try to find a used one somewhere from a parts car, even if that has to have a lower patch panel welded to it. I'm trying to locate one before the adjuster tries to hit me with some "the best we can do is" crap. Here's another pic:

I truely hate it for you!
As a insurance adjuster (please don't hold it against me) I'll reitterate what Goatless said. If the idiot's carrier is a "regular" insurance company, they will not have any idea how to handle the repairs and/or value of your car. You can try to educate them, but it may take some extra time, patience and headaches on your part. It is not impossible.
If you have classic insurance and want to avoid the headaches, you will probably want to let them handle it and go after (subrogate) against idiot's carrier.
I'm not trying to bash the unknowledgeable in my industry, but giving a realistic perspective.
Good luck!

Wayne, it's just regular insurance, not classic. The kid's insurance company is Farmer's, and I've heard they're not too bad to work with. We'll see. I expect the adjuster will be contacting me tomorrow or Tuesday.

Have fun!
Farmers is not what they say!
I had a drunk hit my 63 in the rain.
Passing on the inside in a blinding rainstorm.

After the inspection they said 750.00 and that was it!
Be prepaired to sue the Insurance co.
I had to more than once!

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

I had a sharp 70 LeMans hardtop that got nailed when I was cruising on September 1, 1989. how's that for memory? I was sitting at the end of a line of cars just after the lights turned green and this 17 year old chick saw the green but not the cars and drilled me in the rear, shoving me into an olds station wagon in front. Her Mustang rebounded back and shot forward again and slid down the length of my passenger side. 3 out of 4 sides wiped.

Her company was State Farm and I requested on the phone, on tape, that I wanted NOS panels for my car. After explaining what NOS meant, a 2700 dollar repair (this was 1989 remember) shot up to 4200. Luckily, the car was worth 4400. Whew.

They tried to give me "driving money" if I agreed to replace just the front clip. Me, my dad and our insurance agent ganged up on him.

After all that, they paid for the full repair and my car was better than before the accident.

So have heart. Things might turn out OK.

Does anyone know for sure whether or not a QP from a 65 will fit the 64? If so, I can broaden my search. Thanks guys. And many thanks for the condolences.

Dont let the adjuster bully you. I had an accident that wasnt my fault and I was lucky to get a good adjuster. The estimate to repair my 1967 GTO was over $9000 and I was paid all except about $125. The adjuster said that he would have a hard time finding the parts. I told him that I could get them myself and he said to go ahead and he would pay me whatever the receits said. I hope you have good luck.

Give Steve a call, his number is on his website which I am going to attache below. We are kind of far from you, but if he does not have the quarter panel you need, he will probably know where to get one back east if it's possible.

Good luck dealing with Farmers Insurance

Yep, The 64 and 65 quarter are interchangeable. I don't know about a Lemans, but for a GTO the holes for the emblems need to be moved. I have a 64 passenger quarter on my 65 GTO post car. I really hate to see your car like that. Good luck with the insurance company.
