Yea, but I don't think that we'll get our's into the mid 12's like your's.

Fall projects for ours, replace window fuzzies, belt line moldings and the vent window chrome. Might change the cam also, still undecided about that.

Here's mine in 3 steps. The blue one actually is much better than when I got it 16 years ago.

Hi all. I am new here but it looks like after a week of searching the web I have hit the jackpot.I dont have an after pic but with any luck I will have one in the future.I put an ad in the local paper to sell my motorhome and a guy came to look and wanted to buy it but didnt have all the cash so offered me a 1967 GP convertable to make up what he didnt have. So I ended up with this car for the $900 he was short I drove it home and now the work has began.

Before -
The date is Feb. 15, 1985. 2 days before my 16th birthday. 4 days before I got my license. Had to have a friend drive it home from the dealership for me.

HUGE round of applause for you guys that took these cars from "not to nice" to Awesome! I bought my GTO in the shape it is in today (because it was a killer deal), and I have tons of respect for you guys that put the blood, sweat and tears into these things.

Darrell and slgenge both have the steering wheel that I would like for my car. (I like the original style too, but the real wood seems to match the dash better, and ALL the parts for the original style aren't available...and at 4 X the price!)
I called OPG and they said they have the wheel, but it won't work with the tilt column! There's also one on ebay, and that guy claims it WILL work with the tilt column. They look like the same wheel...anybody know for sure what's up?
My car has tilt column, and some weird aftermarket steering wheel.

I would really like to make this change to the wood wheel...advice? (P.S. I've already changed the radio to an original 66 AM, looks much better, thats why I'd like to keep going with this.)

Also, anyone know where I can get the wood insert to just the shifter plate/bezel? I'm not sure where this plate/bezel is from because its now a 3 speed auto.

Very nice work guys! Excellent thread.

SteveO: Your wheel looks like the Grant with the make specific center cap.

I believe PY provides the wood grain insert. I was able to find one for my '70. It didn't have the "L" "S" "D" white silk-screened as the original did, but otherwise looks very nice.
