He did a friends 55 Chevy for 8000 that turned out beautiful and I feel like it was in worse shape than my car. I am no Bodyman though.

Just wondering if you shopped around and got estimates on that crown. As someone with zero dental restoration experience, I feel qualified to comment on that price. That seems high to me for such a quick job. Maybe you could find a dentist who works on the side at home out his garage......

64 speed left himself wide open on that one.

I get on my wife's case sometimes....she tells the story.. "today i saw a decapitated deer on the way to work". So I answer " how do you know it was on the way to work? Did it have a lunchbox"?

Ever since then if I see a deer on the way to work I call her and tell her I saw a deer on the way to work.

George

Well, I'm anxious to see how it looks once the color is laid down.

Well I’ve had a stroke of luck. Seems that the owner of a body shop here in my neck of the woods is a disabled veteran too. After talking to him at length today and sending him all the pictures he asked for he agreed to do it for 4000 dollars flat plus materials and he gave me a list of products he is familiar with and sprays. I called our local paint place and they told me that all of them were quality brands ranging in price from 2500 to 4000 for the two colors and what I will need to get it done so it looks like it’s gonna be vets helping vets.

Glad you found someone to do the work. Just wondering though, seems odd that the price of materials would be the same as 25 years ago. I paid $3200 in materials in 1992 for a nice driver job on a 65 GTO convertible.
