Did you look?

Because there are two gargantuan threads on just one 1972 Formula 455HO.
There are another two or three threads on one specific 1970 Formula 400.

As I recall, during this time, black was only available for 1971 Firebirds;
But could have been special ordered for the other years - this would account for why not many originally painted in this colour exist.

Any dark color is a good contrast for white guts, Even Orange looks great with it.
Darker colors make it more work to keep clean and dust free ( if that is even possible)
Starlight Black ( code 19) was more than likely put on every year Firebird Formula in the second generation, even if it was special ordered for the years it was "not available".
Lots of colors "look Black" 90% of the time as well, but are Not black.

Back in the early 80's my brothers friend had a pretty rusty 1971 Formula 400 in a bronze color with a similar color interior.

I always liked light to medium exterior colors with white interiors.
And darker exteriors with dark interiors.
Course latest car going to be light blue with black interior, so....

I have grown to quite like non-black interiors;
It seems to me that if the interior colour wasn't match to the exterior, more often than not the interior colour was black.

My dash ,carpet and console are black. The rest is white, was going black or white exterior. I havent seen many formulas in person, so before paint I was hoping for some opinions on that white or black choice.

A black, or similar dark colour looks great on an early Firebird or Formula when it also has the bright trim, wheel arches, drip rails and decor, as well as window surrounds, sets it all off and says classic.
