Troy, be persistent. I got the runaround as well but waited a few weeks and tried again then got a list of authorized dealers to go to. If your seller is still around you should be able to get replacements.
Now for the bad part (for me): unfortunately I bought mine through a friend's shop and his distributor was no longer selling BFG's. When I went to the dealers BFG supplied they were reluctant to handle it since I hadn't bought from them. They claimed BFG "reimbursement" wouldn't cover their costs. One offered to do the swap if I would pay the difference but I was fed up by that time and just turned them around to blackwall. Truth is, I left the trim rings off the Rally II's and now really like the look. Car is a Mayfair Maize vert and the plain wheels/blackwalls have a more aggressive vibe. As for cleaning them, I had managed to get them "close" to white a few times but it didn't last. Like I told the BFG rep, the tires these replaced, which were on the car for 14 years and driven hard (too long I know) are still in my garage and the RWL's look better than this set ever will. Good luck, Mark O.

Same for me. I just didn't want the hassle of spending more time at the tire shop. Once I kicked the white letter habit, I never looked back. I prefer the blackwalls now.

I since tried tire cleaners again like bleach white, Purple Power, Etc. and then I thought of my old red neck friend gasoline. I put a little on a rag and it wiped off that tacky film that nothing else would touch with ease and turned the side wall a like new black rubber look, I wiped it 2-3 times until nothing else was coming off onto the rags , Then I tried it on the white letters and it turned them almost pure white without much effort. I then cleaned everything with soap and water. I have not driven the car yet to know if it will come back but have a good feeling about it, I am sure I may take some flack for this action but tough times call for tough measures, Of course you wont want to do it over and over, but I think it may hopefully only need to be done a couple of times . And of course you need to be safe and careful about it. I will drive my car when the weather permits and see what happens. Disclaimer: Do not try this at home, I am a trained red neck professional. So can we say gas will fix this issue? I tried lacquer thinner which did seem to work,. but only with a lot of scrubbing

Hmmm...seems to be some different experiences here. I just got off the phone with my friend. He called BFG today, he said they issued a claim number immediately and apologized for the problem about 50 times throughout the course of the phone call. Hope it all runs just as smooth once he brings them in and the actual tire replacement happens.

a final follow up: My friend brought the tires down to the place, the guy acknowledged the brown letters and ordered in the replacements. They came in Friday and are all mounted with the new ones. It was a smooth as silk experience for him. White letters on the new tires glow in the dark they're so nice. A thanks again to Jays55 from him on the warranty info.

Leave the porcupines alone and they won't do that.
Gto4evr, can you get the phone number he used to call BFG for us. It would be easier using that number then going thru the BS with their initial list to select. Usually that doesn't work all that great.

Had the same issue with the 72 lemans GT I sold (to a guy in Texas)..I was constantly scrubbing those tires to try to keep them nice...turned brownish/yellowish within a few days...and the letters were awful looking!.I did send 2 of the worst ones back after sending picts to the rep.. and they sent me new ones ..same problem again...Oh well I guess the guy in Texas should contact Tire rack..I bought them in late 2017-early 18?

Well I'm glad I found this....for years my TA's have been turning brown, kept changing tyre shine brands blaming them for it.

PITA, But Some Progress
Okay gang, here's where things stand as of 9/7/19 on my warranty claim with BF Goodrich and my browning 2016-purchased Radial T/A's with less than 1000 miles on them:
- called the BFG hotline at 877-788-8899 - immediately got a case number assigned, which is simply my phone number - took the SSJ to the Pep Boys up the street - service guy confirmed the browning and called BFG - they said they needed all DOT #'s from the tires, as well as the tread depths - service guy gathered all of that information - he called BFG back and they said they would apply a 50% warranty credit So now I can either argue with them and gather more stress in my life, or I can choose an alternative. The Pep Boy service guy recommends their Futura white letter tires, but I know nothing about them....

I’ve had the same problem with a set of repop Wide Oval’s I purchased from Rusty Small. Prior to the TA Nat’s I carefully cleaned them a letter at a time using Brake Kleen sprayed on a rag wrapped around a finger. I followed this with a Brillo pad and then Bleche White. All of the staining was removed and the letters remain white after 75 miles of driving.

I has a set with the old tread pattern with "Big Honkin" white letters that I ran on my 70' Camaro back around 86'. But I wore the fronts out and got new fronts around 88' It's the tire and tread pattern as well as smaller letter size you still see to this day..no sidewall cord to speak of and handle bad...hate them to this day! Fast forward to today I now have used Mickey Thompson & Cooper Cobras which are still a step above the BFG's

I went with the Coopers recently. No doubt they ride better than the 8 year old BFG’s they replaced. Here’s hoping the letters stay white and that the aggressive tread isn’t to noisy over time. I considered going blackwall but just couldn’t do it. I will admit that the much lower price of the Coopers vs the BFG’s helped sway me.
