Trying to confirm what type of seal was used between Heater Core and Firewall around the Inlet/Outlet Tubes on a factory A/C car.

When I disassembled my Dad's '64 to fix a leaky Heater Core, I didn't find any evidence of a Seal. This is pretty much an all original, CA car. Original Heater Core.

I realize that NON-A/C cars had a formed foam Seal around the tubes but I can't find anything showing what was used on A/C cars.

Suggestions, references?

Your last picture is the correct factory seal. I just had mine apart and replaced last year. That is what was in mine.

This topic was discussed a bit at the 2013 Dayton Co Vention, inside versus outside gasket. Seems to depend on the build date,,, maybe? What date is on the factory drawing? Outside was earlier and inside came later, maybe.,,,,, Fun isn't it???

My 3/69 MPC doesn't show Seal for A/C applications.

Why would there be a difference between non-A/C and A/C Heater Hose Tube Seals?

Mine is a late '65 with A/C.

John, can't say about A/C builds. Or why the A/C cars were "different" when it came to the heater hoses.

Note, in '64 the 9770746 seal was called "1st design". The foam seal was called "2nd design" but in the thread, some '64s apparently got both seals.

My early '64 non-A/C car was also missing the seal but I obtained an original 9770746 molded rubber seal years ago and went with it.

I see it is reproduced but not sure the repros have the p/n molded on it.

The A/C heater box is all different right? Maybe it doesn't need a separate seal? Or perhaps the A/C seal wasn't serviced? Have you looked in the A/C parts section of the MPC for a heater core seal.

Only wish mine was an A/C car. I've gotten old. In '73 or '74, my dad borrowed my non-A/C '64 GTO to commute to his office one summer day when his A/C car was in the shop. He came home soaked in sweat. I just laughed at him. Now I've become "that guy"!
