I know someone who has a 1112072 distributor which is 1971 455 distributor. It has a date code of 0M7. Is that December 7, 1970? I thought month codes didn't go past the letter "L".

Yes, that distributor was built in December of 1970. The letter "I" isn't used in date codes on distributors (but is used on engines in '71) since it could be confused as a "1".
