Default Looking for a good to new SD455 Muffler

I'm taking TA to Gettysburg. I blew the muffler out. It's got a big hole in main body. Pipes seemed to be ok. I talked to Gardner.i would need to buy whole system,my last resort money wise. An owner who bought their system can buy just a muffler.A friend has one ,used muffler ,but wants a SD distributor in trade I only have one spare. So any help out there? Thanks

That seems a kind of odd way to do business.

Bob, if you run into a dead end with the Gardner system, I think you'd be pretty pleased with the Waldron unit. It's based on the original Firebird muffler blueprint and uses packaging material to soften the tinniness and accentuate the rumble. When we explained it to Tom Hand, to told him we wanted the factory sound on steroids. He worked with Waldron to create it. And they nailed it!

I have several videos of the car on YouTube that you might like to see/hear.

Waldron does have the muffler available. However it isn't on the shelve. 8 to 10 weeks, maybe longer depending on availability of stainless.

Bob, one thing to note that I just thought of is that the original over-axle pipes on your SD neck down from 2.5 to 2.25 just before it enters the muffler. What size are the inlet/outlet nipples on the muffler you purchased? I know Waldron offers it several ways.

Muffler from Waldron fit very nice. I needed to make adapters to fit exhaust pipes(2.25) into muffler(2.5 "),like Rocky alluded too. I was very fortunate to use original exhaust pipes and tail pipes. No leaks. Now possibly replace whole system. I missed replies before, just got busy and forgot to look.
