Help finding a thread on front crossmembers please
I am looking for a thread I saw on here. I want to cut the crossmember and add a small bar for pan clearance. I searched but could not find the link. Any help would be appreciated. TY

No problem. I've studied it a bit myself, but haven't made a move. Good luck

I'm going for it! Early winter project, I am making f ew changes and the motor is out so what the hell. Make the engine install easier.

For sure. Might make mounting a rack and pinion easier too, which was part of my interest. Post some pics of your install when you're done.

I have a question for the guys that have the removable crossmember bar on first gen F-bodies and X -bodies.
If the car has a mid plate and motor plate is the bar even necessary? Since these subframes have a front crossmember that most guys mount their rack and pinion to, seems unnecessary. Seems like the removable bar would be hard to get in or out if the subframe was moving around even the slightest bit. |
