Default Blue on jack base and mechanism...

Wasn't the blue used on the jack pieces a Ford color or very similar? I'm powdercoating mine and I was on the Eastwood site looking at blue powders and the darker Ford blue sure looks the same.

The dark blue Ford engine paint I have is quite a bit lighter than the original paint on my jack. I'm still looking for something closer. I found a royal blue that's darker than the original -- it's really hard to tell until you spray some and see how it matches.

Here are two pictures of paint samples next to my original jack. The first is Duplicolor DE1606 Ford Dark Blue, the second is Krylon 1907 Navy Blue Gloss. The first is pretty close, but not quite as dark as the original.

Ten years later, Is the DE1606 still the blue color of choice for the jack parts?
Anything available in a 2K enamel apposed to a rattle can of duplicolor?

Looks Like PPG Delstar DAR13358 is the same corporate ford blue. I picked up a rattle can of the DE1606 on my way home tonight & sprayed a card. covers well, but boy that sure looks darker than I was expecting. Also closer to a semi gloss sheen.

Well, I have this picture I got from KK68 about a year ago. So I was expecting it to be more of a medium blue like this picture. Obviously computer screens, lighting & cameras can change things quite a bit. But the the DE1606 is more on the deep blue.

The DE1606 I would say is close to the darkest color LPete posted above. in the second picture, post #4

68 Fremont jack assembly. Colors were all over the place. Black base, dark blue jack mechanism, medium blue adapter and light blue lug wrench.

Interesting.....

Here is another picture I saved. Not sure where I got it. seems to match KK68's base.

OG68, is yours darker than these? The pictures a little dark to tell, but it does look darker.

I also noticed most of the bases I see are square. Mine has slightly tapered sides.

So do you guys think the lighter, or medium blue in the above pictures is still a a match to a ford blue engine paint? I'll post some picts this afternoon of what the DE1606 dark blue looks like, but I would say its closer to Lpete's 2nd picture above.

When I brought the car home the jack assembly and lug wrench turned up missing. I still have the base, rear bumper adapter and hold down bolt/nut.
Heres more recent photos (5 min ago) of the base and adapter.
But the rachet assembly on the jack was definitely a much darker blue.

Looking for a 68 Fremont jack assembly now.

A good cars trunk is better then some motor compartment. Yours rocks and when looking up through to the rear seats and seeing rust free springs its even better.

I was looking around the shop to see if I had anything that was a common blue that others might have in their shop for comparison. I found my 3M face shield is dang near an exact match for the DE1606. I realize the odds of you guys having the same shield is unlikely, but I was surprised how its virtually the same color.

I could take 10 pictures with my iPhone under different lights, etc & they would all look different here. However, I could take the picts in any light & they would never be as bright of a blue as the picts above. so thought this was a better way to compare. also have a piece of blue 3M masking tape across the card to give another idea of how dark it is. Jack base is back epoxy primer.
Nobodies parts above look this dark to me & I am hesitant to paint is this color. Still searching for one of those bumper adaptors too. You would think those things would be easy to find.

dries between a gloss to semi-gloss,
