Default Timing belt replacement ?

I came across a timing belt, from a supplier, that has a 0.5 pitch 98 teeth and 49" length. It seem to be an exact match for the belt we need on the OHC-6. Price was reasonable & test fitting on the "spare" engine looks good. I'll spin it up with the starter motor this weekend and see how it tracks.

Is there anything on the belt specks I am missing?

Thumbs up AMA Specs; 98 Teeth. 1.032 - .954 Width. .500 Pitch.

Sounds promising.
Keep us posted.

Smile test belt update

Thank you for the memory jog. I ran the sample belt and everything seems to be fine. I got tied up with the holidays & cold weather & have been unable to run it further. I did place a test order for 5 of them. the landed cost to me is $ 28.79 each. I'll list them on ebay for $ 40. Anyone here want one it will be the landed cost & shipping. I'll let you know when they arrive (after I make sure they are the same as the sample one.) If this works out I may order a bulk shipment next.

Nice! I'll take one landed upfront if you're happy with them.

Default Belts are here

The belts arrived today. They all look good and match up to an old OEM (GM) one I have had for years. I picked one at random & it test fit on an engine just fine. I'll run it in on my test stand this weekend. If it goes well I will have them ready for next week.

Things worked out great. I ran the belt on my spare engine & it tracks great. The only difference I can find is that the belts are measured & cut using the metric system so the length is fine ( just a hair under 49" ) and the width is super close at 25.25 mm . Works out to 22/23 of an inch. Pitch is 0.5 , so that's good. I have them listed on e-bay ( item # 153435809488 ) If anyone wants to look at the info, or a picture. OHC-6 TECH members PM me if you are interested in one. I have ordered 10 additional belts, so no rush, if they go fast on e-bay .
