In SS, Bill Rink was #6, and won his GT/QA class. Casey McCarty was RU in his GT/GA class.

If I remember correctly, Bill Rink has been running SS/MA in his '74 GTO. Not sure what changes, if any, he made to switch over to GT/QA. Anybody know ?

I'll just say that the Pontiacs had a bad day, at this race, and leave it there.

There are at least 4 Pontiac powered Stockers at this race. Member Adam Strang's '68 Bird is one of 'em. Others are '77 GP - Lauren Kanuik, '77 Formula - Chad Smith, & '79 Lemans - Billy Nees.

Adam said he also had the 350HO in his Bird at the Epping race. He qualified with an .803 under 10.847.

I don't think there is any doubt that he has the quickest 350 Pontiac powered Stocker ever. I'm real glad to see the 350 run that quick !

Billy Nees had the highest qualified Pontiac powered Stocker, with his '79 301 powered Lemans. Adam Strang ran a 10.846, with his 350HO '68 Bird. It's listed on the sheet as a 400. But, he posted on FB that is does indeed have the 350 in it.

Bill Kennedy is #23 on the SS Q-list, with his 400 powered 3rd gen.

Willbert Thornton was apparently not able to make the call for the 1st round of SS. Hope it was nothing serious.

https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop

Jimmy Daniel made it to round 2, in S/ST.

Adam posted that he ran a 10.837 @ 122.80 mph !

That's quick ya'll, for a small valve 350 Pontiac engine. And it has a .421 max lift cam, iron intake, & a 750 Q-jet.

http://www.classracerinfo.com/Engine...8&MAKE=Pontiac

From this calculator, looks like it would take almost 500 hp, to run that quick.

http://www.wallaceracing.com/hpcalculatorquarter.php

Any other 500 hp 350 Pontiac engines here ?
